My Bio

Brought up on the Norfolk West Norfolk Coast now living in rural West Suffolk. I am the Suffolk Together Candidate for  Blackbourne Division in the County Council Elections.  I am the founder of a Local Democracy campaign in my local community for transparency from Suffolk County Council on the Issue of the Core Waste Strategy Public Consultation.  The community I live in feels that the very least legally required was done by Suffolk C.C to inform the people living locally of the Public Consultation Process for proposals to give planning permission for a Privately run Incinerator/MBT & Incinerator combination, to burn Industrial Waste on a light Industrial site in Hepworth, near Stanton, Walsham-Le-Willows & Ixworth.  I am 35 years of age and I work as an executive in the plastic packaging industry - my knowledge of this industry has given an insight into the solutions & issues surrounding plastic recycling, packaging and Biodgegrade-able technology.  From my experience within the Packaging Industry I believe that there is more to the issue of waste & recycling than meets the eye and that the volatility in Market values for Recyclables are responsible for wasting vast amounts of non renewable resources.  It is with this in mind that I feel that I have a positive contribution to make when it comes to the challenges facing Suffolk on this particular subject.  Suffolk is a great County to live in and I feel that the people of Suffolk deserve better from those entrusted with the Authority to run our County.  It's time to bring democracy back to the communities of Suffolk - Its time to vote Suffolk Together.

  • Fly Plague threatens Summer in Mid Suffolk Villages

I am due to be intervied by BBC Radio Suffolk to add my comment on the Plagues of Common House Flies which have decended on the Villages of Hepworth, Walsham-le-Willows, Stanton and Wattisfield.

I can hear you all asking what exactly is going on in your part of our County - is this a sign of biblical proportions?

The good news for all in answer to this question is all though one can never be sure that this is not a sign from celestial powers I am more inclined to think that the problems we here are facing everytime we open our windows, eat our dinners or enjoy a summers day barbeque are linked to the fact that we are also suffering from a sweet sickly rancid smell being blown by the wind to us  from the recently installed so called privately owned "Composting Facility", situated on the site earmarked in Suffolk County Council's "marvellously" transparent  Waste Core Strategy.

Over the last 2 years 100's of complaints have been logged with the Enviroment agency regarding the smell and fly infestations during the summer months and nothing ever happens - its almost like the EA are not there to protect individuals but to protect the business's causing nuisance from the anger of the local people who's lives they wreck.

It has been recently published that composting sites may be contributing to local air pollution with the release of thousands of dangerous fungal spores called "bioairosols" which can cause serious issues in the populations surrounding these sites.

So when someone explains that a "harmless" Mulch plant is being built up the road - please dont just sit there and allow the authorities to give consent to something which will not only wreck the opportunity for you and your family enjoying a normal family life in your garden or eat your tea with out constantly being bothered by house flies but may even give you serious non curable lung conditions and immunity issues.

If we dont all stand up and scruitinise what the authorities are doing they will carry on walking all over us like they are now, so take a leaf out of my book, if you love your county and love your life hear - give up a little of your time get together with your neighbours and fight the rot - dont allow planners to build something because their is now one to ask questions. We all want progress but not at the expense of our health, tranquility and our property values!
